The Livanos family proudly welcomes you to Moderne Barn, a casual and sophisticated American restaurant with global influences. The legacy of the Livanos Family in the New York restaurant industry began nearly fifty years ago with John Livanos. Today John is joined by his children, Nick, Bill and Corina who help operate and manage Oceana, Abboccato and Molyvos in New York City as well as the City Limits Diner Locations in White Plains NY and Stamford, CT and Burger Deluxe in Wayne, NJ.
Residing in Armonk, The Livanos family aimed to create an inviting gathering place in their hometown, the result is the ‘'urban country chic’' Moderne Barn. Designed by Kim Nathanson of Morris Nathanson Design, the restaurant features a hint of the country with some industrial elements, including a double height walnut barrel vaulted ceiling and a cat walk over the bar that houses our wine "cellar". The space also features three large prints from Roberto Dutesco, who is well known for his photography of the Horses of Sable Island. Located on the corner of Route 22 and Cox Avenue, in Armonk, NY, the restaurant offers it’s guests affordable luxury.
Our philosophy is to create an experience that brings exceptional service, superb cuisine and terroir- driven wines together in a stunning atmosphere. Executive Chef Ethan Kostbar accomplishes this by using a Mediterranean, New American approach to showcase ingredients with simplicity and seasonality. Chef Kostbar’s remarkable talent, classical training and worldly travels allow him to be true to the taste of each ingredient. He accomplishes this by using naturally grown produce within the season.
